Common tile grout formula ingredients: cement 330g, sand 690g, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 4g, redispersible latex powder 10g, calcium formate 5g; high adhesion tile grout formula ingredients: cement 350g, sand 625g, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 2.5g of methyl cellulose, 3g of calcium formate, 1.5g of polyvinyl alcohol, 18g of styrene-butadiene rubber powder.
Tile glue is actually a kind of ceramic adhesive. It replaces the traditional cement mortar. It is a new building material for modern decoration. It can effectively avoid tile hollowing and falling off. It is suitable for various construction sites. So, what are the ingredients in the tile grout formula? What are the precautions for using tile grout? Let’s take a brief look at it with the editor.
1. Ingredients of tile grout formula
Common tile grout formula ingredients: cement 330g, sand 690g, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 4g, redispersible latex powder 10g, calcium formate 5g; high adhesion tile grout formula ingredients: cement 350g, sand 625g, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 2.5g of methyl cellulose, 3g of calcium formate, 1.5g of polyvinyl alcohol, 18g of styrene-butadiene rubber powder.
2. What are the precautions for using tile grout
(1) Before using tile grout, the verticality and flatness of the substrate must be confirmed first, so as to ensure the quality and effect of construction.
(2) After the tile grout is stirred, there will be a validity period. The expired tile grout will dry out. Do not add water to use again, otherwise it will affect the quality.
(3) When using tile grout, pay attention to reserve the gap between the tiles to avoid deformation due to thermal expansion and contraction of the tiles, or water absorption.
(4) When using tile grout to paste floor tiles, it must be stepped on after 24 hours, otherwise it will easily affect the tidyness of the tiles. If you want to fill the joints, you will have to wait for 24 hours.
(5) The tile grout has relatively high requirements on the ambient temperature, and is suitable for use in an environment of 5 to 40 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is too high or too low, the quality will be affected.
(6) The amount of tile grout needs to be determined according to the size of the tile. Don’t just apply tile grout around the tiles just to save money, as it is very easy to appear hollow or fall off.
(7) Unopened tile grouts on site must be stored in a cool and dry place. If the storage time is long, please confirm the shelf life before use.
