HEC for Textile
HEC hydroxyethyl cellulose has many advantages in textile, dyeing and printing applications.
● Fabric sizing
HEC has long been used for sizing and dyeing yarns and fabrics. This slurry can be washed away from the fibers by water. In combination with other resins, HEC can be more widely used in fabric treatment, as a former and binder in glass fiber, as a modifier and binder in leather sizing.
● Fabric latex coatings, adhesives and adhesives
Adhesives thickened with HEC are pseudoplastic, that is, they thin out under shear, but return quickly to high viscosity control and improve printing clarity.
HEC can control the release of water and allow it to flow continuously on the printing roller without adding adhesive. Controlled water release allows for more open time, which facilitates packing and the formation of a better mucous membrane without significantly increasing drying time.
HEC improves the mechanical strength of non-fabric adhesives at concentrations of 0.2% to 0.5% in solution, reducing wet cleaning on wet rollers and increasing the wet strength of the final product.
HEC is an ideal adhesive for non-fabric printing and dyeing, and can obtain clear and beautiful images.
HEC can be used as adhesives for acrylic coatings and non-fabric processing adhesives. It is also used as a thickener for fabric bottom coatings and adhesives. It does not react with the filler and remains effective at low concentrations.
● Dyeing and printing of fabric carpet
In carpet dyeing, such as the Custer continuous dyeing system, few other thickeners match the thickening and compatibility of HEC. Due to its good thickening effect, easy to dissolve in various solvents, low impurity content does not interfere with the absorption of dyes and color diffusion, so that printing and dyeing is not limited by insoluble gels (which can cause spots on the fabric) and high technical requirements of uniformity.
